Our Little Corner of the World

When I'm not working on my online sales, I enjoy puttering around our property in the High Desert of Southern California.  About 30 miles north of Palm Springs, we are situated on five acres just outside of town in Yucca Valley, California, and about 6 miles from Joshua Tree National Park.  Our elevation is just under 4,000 feet, so we get to experience the seasons...perfect temperate springs, warm dry summers, crisp autumns, and cold winters.  We get a little bit of snow almost every year...just enough to enjoy without hampering our comings and goings.  And the sunsets are spectacular.  It was a great choice for our retirement years.

I have a pot garden.  This, out of necessity, as the bunnies think a garden is their personal 'bunny buffet'.  We have lots of critters here.  Bunnies, squirrels, chipmunks, woodpeckers, songbirds, hummingbirds, ravens, hawks, dove, bobcats, coyotes, quail, lizards, snakes, and a resident roadrunner we call George.  Actually, it's not just one roadrunner, but we can't tell them apart, so we call them all George!
